Snail stew in Nigerian is a favourite especially during the raining season. The reason is because, snails are easy to get whenever it rains.
Writing this reminds me of my childhood when we would wake up early in the morning to go out in search for snails whenever it rained overnight.
When it rains, snails come out of their hiding places, they move around in the damp area where plants are common, searching for water and food.
Also, they are cheaper in the market because they are in season.
