NOTE

  1. This boiled groundnut recipe is for groundnuts that have not be shelled i.e groundnuts that are still in the pod.
  2. Although, you can also use this recipe for raw groundnuts that have been shelled but you have to reduce the quantity of the salt you will use for boiling it so that your peanuts don’t become too salty to be eaten.
  3. Peanuts are uprooted from the ground so it is important you ensure that they are washed well in clean water until the water becomes clear before cooking.
  4. After cooking the groundnuts and draining the hot water, if you can’t wait to allow the peanuts cool down before eating because you feel it is taking too long or you just don’t have the time to wait for it. Here is what you should do;
  5. Get a bowl filled with a lot of water
  6. The water has to be room temperature or cold water
  7. Pour the freshly boiled hot groundnuts into the water
  8. Make sure the water covers the groundnut completely
  9. This will cool the groundnuts so that it is ready to eat immediately.
  10. Pour the groundnuts into a basket to drain excess water.
